Bringing Community Together

Life has been a whirlwind lately. Being busy has its ups and downs—especially when living with chronic pain—but I’ve found that giving my time and energy to the community brings me a sense of purpose and joy that makes the challenges worthwhile.
As many of you know, I’m the founder of Wander and Rest Life, a space dedicated to supporting people through health, wellbeing, and community connection. Alongside that, I am also proud to be a PDT Community Champion for my area, working to bring people together and ensure that local voices are heard.
Recently, I had the privilege of being on the panel for the co-design project at the Community Hub, helping shape a service that truly reflects the needs of Westminster residents. I’ve also been working on some exciting new initiatives, including the launch of Let’s Talk—a bi-weekly community conversation series at the Lilestone Community Hub. These sessions will create safe spaces to talk about important issues like men’s and women’s health, finance, chronic pain, community safety, and much more.
This year has also brought some incredible highlights. One of the biggest was completing the Canal Side event, which brought the community together in such a positive and uplifting way. It was a chance to celebrate our neighbourhood, showcase local talent and organisations, and remind ourselves of the power of collective effort.
Looking ahead, I’m also in conversation with Queens Park Community Council about delivering something special for Black History Month, ensuring we continue to celebrate culture, heritage, and identity in ways that unite and inspire.
Of course, being involved in so many projects has its challenges. There are days when the pain makes it harder to show up. But even on the tough days, I hold onto the fact that every step forward, no matter how small, creates an impact. Helping others, building connections, and seeing our community thrive makes every bit of effort worth it.
I am grateful for the opportunities to be part of this journey and excited about everything that’s still to come. Watch this space for more updates, events, and projects. My hope is that, together, we can continue creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected.
